song i’m obsessed with: Threads (Something in the Water)
“Threads (Something in the Water)” is a track released by BBOY ZERO in the summer of 2025. I really like this song because it has this nostalgic but still unfamiliar vibe that feels both comforting and new at the same time. I’m always drawn to music that genuinely reflects who an artist is, and this track really feels like a true representation of BBOY ZERO. Knowing his background in breakdancing and skateboarding, the energy and style of the song make a lot of sense and come through naturally. The production stands out too. It feels like hip-hop blended with Aphex Twin–style sounds, which makes the whole track feel unique and immersive.
why should you listen to BBOY ZERO?
I’m not sure exactly when I first discovered BBOY ZERO, but since becoming familiar with his work, he has consistently stood out for doing things that feel innovative and uniquely his own. He truly operates in his own lane. What I especially appreciate is the impact of his artistry in a city like Nashville, a place often associated with country and rock music, where BBOY ZERO challenges expectations and expands the creative landscape. Drawing inspiration from artists such as Solange, Madlib, and Aphex Twin, his sound and visual identity come together to form a distinctive artistic presence. It’s the kind of creativity that feels important for audiences to experience moving into 2026, and I feel genuinely honored and grateful to witness and support such talent.
