lee ikari
song i’m obsessed with: superloser
“superloser” is a two-minute experimental track from DREAM:BARDO (Prelude), a three-track EP released by Lee on January 13, 2026. After hearing the song, it was immediately clear that I wanted Lee to be February’s Artist of the Month. The track blends ethereal, backrooms-inspired production with a cadence reminiscent of A$AP Rocky, paired with heavily distorted vocals that feel immersive and transportive. The sound evokes late-night nostalgia, almost like being awake at 4AM on a rainy night watching Adult Swim in a dark hotel room. Creating a dreamlike, floating sensation. I am also 100% sure it samples Björk’s 2001 track “Cocoon,” which is one of my all-time favorite songs, it was an instant standout on first listen. superloser exemplifies the kind of music that invites listeners to close their eyes and step fully into the artist’s world, almost like experiencing a song in POV mode. It’s a fresh, imaginative sound, and one I’m excited to hear more of in 2026.
why should you listen to lee ikari?
Lee Ikari does more than just sound good, it builds worlds and makes you feel something. Experimental rap is something the world really needs right now and Lee creates songs that pull you into his headspace instead of just playing in the background. That kind of world-building is something I always try to do in my own music, so his work feels especially inspiring to me. We discovered each other around late 2022 and watching his growth since then has been crazy in the best way. There’s real growth, confidence, and emotional weight in his sound, which is wild considering he’s only 20 years old. His music feels focused, creative, and forward-moving, and it’s clear he’s carving out his own lane.
