DEY-G

“Being an artist to me means expressing whatever I’m feeling, consuming, and experiencing through a medium (music). I believe in the natural flow of creativity through the journey of life and everything that it throws at me. Making music has been a God-given tool for me. The process of making songs is similar to crafting a painting to me. Being an artist is a way of life and it can come out in many ways outside of just making music and that is an amazing way to live my life. I’m very proud to be able to call myself an artist and I’m flattered to be your Artist of the Month”

song i’m obsessed with: JAZZ STOMPIN’

“JAZZ STOMPIN” is a standout track from DEY-G’s newly released project, THAT GOOD. It immediately caught my attention, reminding me of early 1990s hold music with a dreamcore edge. Listening to it felt like being transported back in time, tapping into a sense of nostalgia for a feeling or memory I can’t quite place. The production stands out to me the most, it’s one of the track’s strongest elements in my opinion.

why should you listen to DEY-G?

DEY-G is honestly such a talented artist to me. From his visual storytelling to his production, everything feels intentional, and he carries this natural ’90s energy that really stands out. What I like most is that he’s not just making songs—he’s building a whole world. A world rooted in Black ’90s nostalgia, strong imagery, and New Jack Swing–influenced production. Listening to his music feels like stumbling across a random demo tape in a thrift store, like a time capsule. There’s something about it that feels familiar but still new at the same time. Every project and song shows how much he cares about the art, and I really respect how he pays homage to the past while still making it feel cool today. He’s literally that good.
